Do I need a doctor's referral?
Physical therapist are Primary care providers and you don’t need a doctor’s referral to book an assessment and subsequent treatments. However, some extended health care companies may require a doctor’s referral for submittal and reimbursement.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring your Alberta Health Care card, any insurance information you have, a list of your medications and your doctor’s referral should you have one.
What do I need to wear?
Please bring comfortable, non-restrictive clothing & clean runners.
Will my insurance pay for therapy?
Generally most insurance companies pay for physical therapy. We recommend that you call the benefit number listed on your insurance card to confirm your insurance benefits before you start therapy.
What if I don't qualify for funding?
At the end of your assessment, your therapists will communicate with you whether you qualify for further funding and options available regarding the same.
Will you keep in contact with my doctor?
We will ensure that you doctor receives a copy of Assessments, status during treatment if required and discharge.
